From August 7 to September 7, 2026, the month of Yang Fire on the Monkey is in effect. In the first part of the forecast, I examined it through BaZi—the individual's personal context. Now I want to add two more levels:
- Date Selection—when it is better to begin a specific action;
- Feng Shui—the conditions created by the space of a home or office.
These are different tools. A favorable date does not correct every feature of a property, and a supportive sector does not make every moment equally suitable for a contract, renovation, or move. The more important the task, the more useful it is to check both time and space.
A general forecast reveals the month's conditions and areas requiring attention. It neither promises inevitable events nor replaces a personal calculation or analysis of a particular property.
Watch the monthly analysis
If you prefer watching to reading, see the recording of my live stream, with a detailed analysis of Date Selection, renovation restrictions, and August's Flying Stars.
August Date Selection: why a general daily assessment is not enough
A Date Selection calendar does not divide a month into simple “good” and “bad” categories. One day may support negotiations and study but be less suitable for moving or a risky financial transaction. What matters is:
- the nature of the day itself;
- the task for which the time is selected;
- the exact hour the action begins;
- the day's personal interaction with the person's date of birth.
A contract, renovation, move, and first night in a new home are therefore different events and need not share the same suitable date.
Read more about the parameters we compare in “How ShenQi Selects a Date for a Task”.
Eclipse season: August 12 and 28
A total solar eclipse occurs on August 12, 2026, followed by a partial lunar eclipse on August 28. In astrological practice, the period between them is often called an eclipse corridor.
From August 12 to 28, I advise:
- avoiding important decisions at the height of emotion;
- giving an unexpected situation time to unfold;
- checking agreements and source data more carefully;
- selecting a date for the specific task when the action is significant;
- retaining the ability to adjust the plan if circumstances change.
Eclipses are neither grounds for fear nor proof of inevitable change. I treat this period as a reason to slow down and check decisions more carefully.
Fire Punishment periods
August's calendar separately marks Fire Punishment intervals down to the exact hours. They cannot be mechanically applied to the whole day or identically to everyone. When planning an important beginning, I consider:
- the exact time of the action;
- the task;
- its interaction with the personal chart;
- whether a calmer window is available within the day.
Pay particular attention this month to:
- August 20—the Snake hour;
- September 1—the Snake hour.
These are two highlighted Fire Punishment intervals. The exact Snake-hour time depends on the city, so check the calendar for your location.
General and personal calendars—what is the difference?
The general Date Selection calendar shows the quality of time and helps compare days for a task. Personalized Calendar adds the date of birth and personal interactions.
The same day can work differently for two people. A general view is sufficient for everyday tasks; important decisions benefit from a personal calculation.
August Feng Shui: check renovation first
Before examining the Flying Stars, answer the most practical question: where is it better not to begin major noisy work in August?

Monthly restriction: the southern part of the home
From August 7 to September 7, avoid beginning major work in the range from Southwest-2 through South to Southeast-2.
This includes:
- demolition;
- drilling and boring;
- remodeling;
- replacing floors;
- work on load-bearing structures;
- other prolonged noisy construction.
If the back of the home falls within Southwest-2 to Southeast-2, it is also better not to begin a major renovation of the entire property or plan a move into it during the month without a separate review.
For example, if the façade faces North, the back is in the South; such a property requires extra attention in August.
Annual restriction: the northern part
The annual restriction also remains: beginning a major renovation of the whole home is not recommended if its back lies from Northwest-2 through North to Northeast-2.
Before renovating, check both layers:
- annual—the northern part;
- monthly—the southern part.
Ordinary cleaning, rearranging furniture, or updating décor without construction noise is not covered.
Feng Shui is not about fearing sectors. It is about choosing a calmer time for active work. If work can be postponed, it is better to postpone it. If not, I review the property, date, and method of beginning separately.
Long-distance travel directions
Annual Star 5 remains in the South, while monthly Star 5 comes to the Northeast. Long journeys in southern and northeastern directions therefore require greater care in August.
This is not a prohibition on being in the South or Northeast and does not apply to every everyday route. It concerns the initial direction of a long journey, flight, or important business trip. If neither direction nor date can be changed, assess the whole situation, including route, time, and personal chart.
August Flying Stars by sector

Monthly stars do not act in isolation. They combine with the annual layer and the particular home's natal chart. Room function matters: the same combination manifests differently at an entrance, in a bedroom, office, or seldom-used storeroom. External movement—a road, elevator, intersection, or construction—can also activate a sector.
The center contains combination 1–2, annual Star 1 and monthly Star 2. Central stars do not occupy a separate sector, but set the month's overall background. In August, it is a reminder to pay greater attention to health, recovery, and immune support.
Below I explain how each direction may manifest. This is not a universal scenario for every property. Traditional health indications are only a reason to attend more closely to well-being. For symptoms or chronic conditions, consult a physician first.
South—combination 5–6
In the South, annual Star 5 joins monthly Star 6, associated with power, discipline, leaders, and official institutions. Routine work and formal matters in this sector may require more time and attention.
At work this may appear through tension with management, extra duties, inspections, or delays in documents and approvals. Follow formal requirements, read contracts carefully, and do not assume a violation will go unnoticed. Legal proceedings, government interactions, and difficult negotiations may require additional attention.
The South does not support impulsive financial risk. Assess major purchases, investments, and obligations conservatively: check terms, allow time and money in reserve, and resist pressure.
Traditionally, this combination is associated with headaches, migraines, psycho-emotional strain, and respiratory sensitivity. If the southern sector is active and a predisposition exists, monitor your well-being.
Active use may increase inner pressure and fatigue, especially for mature men, whom Star 6 symbolically represents. Keep the sector calm, avoid noisy work, and reduce rushed decisions.
Northeast—combination 4–5
Annual Star 4 represents education, intellect, creativity, romance, and development. Monthly Star 5 hinders these qualities, so what is normally easy may need more attention and time.
Learning may involve difficulty concentrating, preparing for exams, or absorbing information. If a student's study or workspace is in the Northeast, allow more time, check results, and do not mistake a temporary decline for lack of ability.
Financially, the combination warns against spending driven by pleasure, excitement, or promises of fast returns. Separate impulsive purchases and risky investments from long-term decisions.
Relationships may become more emotional and idealized. New acquaintances, romantic decisions, and promises need time for verification.
Flying Stars tradition associates 4–5 with greater attention to skin, inflammatory and infectious processes, blood, the reproductive system, and breasts. This is not grounds for self-diagnosis; symptoms require ordinary medical diagnostics.
If active, the sector's main task is to avoid artificially accelerating events, maintain financial discipline, and resist irreversible decisions under emotion.
Southwest—combination 7–8
The Southwest receives the mixed 7–8 combination. Star 8 retains its link to stability, material results, and accumulation, while Star 7 makes expression faster, more emotional, and impression-driven.
It may heighten romance and desire for change. New relationships can develop quickly, so do not substitute intense feelings for knowing the person. Decisions about living together, marriage, or other serious steps need both heart and reason.
Long-standing couples can use this sector to restore attention to each other: discuss expectations directly and decide together what to change.
Star 8 can support income, but Star 7 increases impulsiveness. New contacts may help if promises remain realistic and financial terms are checked.
North—combination 6–7
Two Metal stars meet in the North. Called the “Sha of Crossed Swords,” this combination heightens rigidity, rivalry, harsh words, and open confrontation.
Professional life may bring disputes with managers, colleagues, or partners, difficult negotiations, claims, and legal proceedings. The more formal the matter, the more important precise agreements, written records, and diplomacy become. Winning at any cost may create more problems than the dispute itself.
In relationships, jealousy and mistrust may intensify. Stars 6 and 7 also symbolically represent tension between an adult man and a young woman. I do not treat this as a forecast of a third party; it is more important to address existing difficulties and not conclude from one emotional episode.
Take care with equipment, tools, metal objects, and driving: tradition associates the combination with cuts and injuries. Medical indications—not a home sector—determine treatment or scheduled surgery dates.
Strong Metal can nevertheless help where discipline, resolve, and quick decisions are needed. Direct its force toward the task, not a battle with others.
West—combination 3–4
The West combines conflict-prone, impulsive annual Star 3 with monthly Star 4, the energy of intellect, creativity, romance, and pleasure. Avoid decisions at the peak of emotion.
Even a small trigger may start an argument, resentment, or prolonged confrontation. Separate facts from emotional interpretation and do not decide while driven to prove yourself immediately.
Personal life may bring attraction to novelty, idealized communication, and a desire to cross familiar boundaries. Existing unresolved issues may become more visible. Discuss problems directly and calmly rather than through provocation, jealousy, or demonstrative acts.
Financially, the West increases mood-, status-, or pleasure-driven purchases. For creative professions, however, it can provide a strong impulse and unconventional ideas.
High activity may bring mental fatigue, irritability, and inner chaos. Limit information load and allow recovery. Channel emotion into creative work and check practical decisions separately.
Northwest—combination 2–3
Combination 2–3 is known as the “Bullfight Sha.” It heightens stubbornness, irritability, and the desire to defend a position at all costs. Where dissatisfaction has accumulated, even a small disagreement may become prolonged.
In family and business, do not confuse persistence with pressure. If discussion circles endlessly, pause, return to facts, and determine what decision is actually needed rather than who must be right.
In money matters, Star 3 may increase greed, impulsiveness, and emotional responses to dividing resources. Be careful with decisions driven by perceived unfairness or a desire to get your share immediately.
Annual Star 2 also emphasizes routine, nutrition, and recovery, especially for people already under strain. Traditional Feng Shui associates 2–3 with possible worsening of chronic conditions and attention to digestion, stomach and intestines, liver, gallbladder, joints, and metabolism.
Chronic tension and conflict consume energy. If the Northwest is active, reduce noise and arguments there. Consult a doctor if well-being changes.
East—combination 8–9
The East becomes one of August's most supportive sectors. Annual Star 8 concerns stable material results, property, accumulation, and the fruits of one's labor. Monthly Star 9 brings speed and visibility, helping processes reach visible results faster.
The East suits negotiations, teaching, consultations, and public work, especially presenting already-prepared work to others.
Financially, it concerns not random luck but consistent investment. It supports long-term planning, property, business development, and projects needing a stable foundation.
If a workplace, meeting room, or important project room lies in the East, use it more actively for meetings, study, public materials, and completing stalled processes.
Southeast—combination 9–1
Along with the East, the Southeast is a main supportive direction. Annual Star 9 joins monthly Star 1, associated with wisdom, learning, development, and opportunities. Often called a “rainbow after rain,” it helps reveal a way forward after waiting.
The Southeast suits beginning study, preparing a project, or seeking a new professional direction. It supports the first step, but results still depend on preparation and action.
For intellectual work, it supports absorbing information, unconventional solutions, and expertise. For careers, it supports negotiations, useful contacts, visibility, and expanded opportunities. Financially, it supports seeking new income sources and directions that may bear fruit later.
The combination also concerns family plans and something new entering family life.
In health, Fire Star 9 and Water Star 1 are traditionally associated with attention to the cardiovascular system, vision, and emotional state. High activity may bring fatigue and inner tension, so even a supportive sector requires balanced work and rest.
If your workspace is in the Southeast, use it for study, important conversations, and new materials. A good sector helps concentration but does not replace preparation and action.
Applying the forecast to your property
The order of analysis matters more than the number of corrections.
1. Mark the restrictions
Mark the Three Sha, annual and monthly Star 5, and directions where renovation should not begin.
2. Add natal Flying Stars
Annual and monthly energies enter the home's existing chart, so neighboring apartments may respond differently to the same month.
3. Find active points
First examine:
- the entrance door;
- the bedroom and bed;
- the workspace;
- the kitchen and stove;
- the room where the family spends most time.
4. Assess the surroundings
Roads, intersections, elevators, stairs, parking, construction, and other sources of movement can activate a sector.
Only then decide which areas to use more and which to keep calm.
What I advise checking in August
- Check an important action's date for its specific task, not only its general rating.
- From August 12 to 28, avoid important decisions at the height of emotion.
- Check exact Fire Punishment hours in the current calendar.
- Do not begin noisy work in the southern range from Southwest-2 to Southeast-2.
- Before renovating an entire home, check the direction of its back against annual and monthly restrictions.
- Plan long journeys South and Northeast with greater care.
- Use the East and Southeast for important work and educational tasks.
- Do not apply a general plan to a home without compass mapping and a natal chart.
Tools for independent work
For selecting time, use:
- the general Date Selection calendar;
- Personalized Calendar, which accounts for date of birth;
- Success Guide with personal activations.
For spatial work, through August 9, 2026 inclusive, special terms apply:
- 25% off “Flying Stars and Their Combinations”;
- 25% off “Period 9 Feng Shui”;
- 10% off natal Flying Stars mapping.
What to remember
In August, first check renovation restrictions, then the direction of the home's back, and only then move on to the Flying Stars.
Date Selection must account for the task, exact hour, and personal interaction. In the space, first check renovation restrictions, the home's back, and active rooms. The month's most supportive sectors are the East and Southeast, while the South and Northeast require greater care.
For an important action, do not seek a universally “good” day or sector. Define the task, then check the time and the particular space. The forecast thus becomes a practical tool, while the decision remains yours.
