In previous articles, we discussed why Period 9 becomes a time of growth for some people and a loss of stability for others, as well as why it is increasingly difficult to find fulfillment through someone else’s success strategy in the era of Fire.
But there is another level that is beginning to influence our lives more and more strongly today.
It is space.
In the ShenQi approach, Feng Shui is viewed not as a system of symbols or decoration,
but as:
a system for analyzing how space strengthens or weakens a person, a business, and the stability of the system itself.
This is why the influence of space becomes much more noticeable in Period 9.
The era of Fire accelerates processes, which means that both the strengths and weaknesses of an environment reveal themselves more quickly.
Why space has a stronger influence in Period 9
In 2024, the world entered Period 9—the era of Fire.
The energy of this time amplifies:
- speed,
- flows of information,
- emotional reactivity,
- public visibility,
- technology,
- and the need to adapt quickly to change.
The world is becoming more intense.
The higher the speed, however, the more strongly the environment begins to affect a person’s state and the stability of processes.
While many people could once live “on autopilot” for years, space now reveals much faster:
- where a person loses resources,
- where the environment increases overload,
- and where, on the contrary, it helps them withstand the speed of the era.
At ShenQi, Feng Shui is viewed as part of a triad:
Time → Chart → Space
Even a favorable time and a strong chart can be experienced very differently depending on the environment in which a person lives and makes decisions.

Feng Shui works across different scales
Why Feng Shui is not only about an apartment
It is very important to understand:
Feng Shui is not just about interior design or furniture placement.
This system operates at different levels of scale.
Imperial Feng Shui
It works with:
- states,
- corporations,
- global systems,
- leaders of the era.
This is the level of large-scale processes and the influence of time on major structures.
External Feng Shui
It is connected with:
- social fulfillment,
- business,
- careers,
- scale of influence.
At this level, space begins to directly affect:
- growth,
- recognition,
- project development,
- the ability to sustain a system.
Internal Feng Shui
This is the space in which a person directly lives or works:
- home,
- office,
- store,
- company,
- workspace,
- the quality of everyday life.
Feng Shui is a system for analyzing the quality of an environment and its ability to support fulfillment.
This becomes especially noticeable in Period 9.

Why business problems are so visible now
Space as part of the fulfillment system
In recent years, many companies have faced serious pressure:
- financial losses,
- management chaos,
- loss of control,
- difficulty maintaining structure,
- unstable processes,
- legal disputes.
The economy is not the only cause.
In Feng Shui, space is always viewed as part of the fulfillment system, because decisions are not made in a vacuum.
If a space:
- creates overload,
- amplifies chaos,
- weakens management,
- fails to retain energy,
- or is constantly exposed to aggressive environmental influences,
this begins to affect:
- the business,
- finances,
- management,
- and the ability to sustain scale.
Sometimes the problem lies not only in strategy or people, but in whether the environment itself supports the level of strain that the system is trying to sustain.
Period 9 is not only about Fire
South as the direction of the era
Yes, according to the San Yuan system, the era of Fire began in 2024 and will last until 2044.
This is why South becomes one of the period’s key directions.
South is associated with:
- recognition,
- reputation,
- visibility,
- results,
- public presence,
- rapid feedback.
There is, however, an important nuance.
Many people focus only on South, although Period 9 itself goes much deeper.
San Yuan and San He: time and the forms of space
Feng Shui has two major systems.
San Yuan
It works with:
- time,
- cycles of eras,
- Flying Stars,
- period formulas.
San Yuan is used to examine:
- Period 9,
- Star 9 as the ruler of time,
- the influence of Fire,
- and the era’s shifting priorities.
San He
It examines:
- forms,
- movement,
- terrain,
- directions,
- surroundings,
- the openness or enclosure of a space.
San He shows how a space manifests the energy of time in real life.
San Yuan shows the quality of time.
San He shows whether a space can retain and manifest that quality.

Why West and Northwest are becoming especially important
In the current period, and especially from 2020 to 2031, the Metal directions in the San He system play an enormous role:
- West,
- Northwest.
They are associated with:
- management,
- control,
- maintaining structure,
- authority,
- stability of processes.
West shows how effectively a system can manage resources and organize processes.
Northwest is associated with:
- the ability to maintain control,
- make decisions,
- and preserve effective management at high speed.
This is especially noticeable now because the era of Fire:
- accelerates processes,
- intensifies emotions,
- increases overload,
- demands quick decisions.
West and Northwest become directions that help maintain the stability of the system.
Why legal and management problems are increasing for many companies
In the San He approach, Metal is associated with more than management.
It also governs:
- administration,
- organization of processes,
- financial stability,
- legal matters,
- structural efficiency.
If the western part of a property:
- is overloaded,
- is chaotically active,
- is exposed to aggressive influences,
- or does not correspond to the quality of the period,
this can manifest as:
- management mistakes,
- loss of control,
- legal disputes,
- business instability,
- financial losses,
- difficulty maintaining the system.
It is important to understand:
space does not create a problem “out of nothing.”
But it can amplify existing instability many times over.
Flying Star 9: prosperity and overheating
Why the energy of growth requires stability
In the San Yuan system, Flying Star 9 becomes the ruler of time.
It is associated with:
- growth,
- technology,
- speed,
- public visibility,
- recognition,
- brightness,
- and the rapid manifestation of results.
This is why many spaces are now beginning to:
- open up faster,
- influence people more strongly,
- enhance social fulfillment,
- accelerate processes.
But it is important to remember:
Even the energy of prosperity has a shadow side.
For Star 9, this is:
- overheating,
- emotional impulsiveness,
- conflicts,
- overload,
- living at an excessively high speed.
This is why Feng Shui cannot be reduced to:
“good energy or bad energy.”
It is important to understand:
- how the space fits into the period,
- which directions are being strengthened now,
- whether the system itself can withstand this speed,
- and whether the space supports the person’s stability.

Space either preserves success or disperses it
The central principle of Feng Shui
One ancient Feng Shui text says:
Qi rides the wind and scatters, but is retained when it encounters water.
This describes the very principle of Feng Shui with remarkable precision.
A space should:
- retain,
- gather,
- direct energy,
- rather than disperse it.
Good Feng Shui is therefore not merely a “beautiful apartment.”
It is a space that:
- supports decisions,
- helps sustain scale,
- reduces chaos,
- strengthens stability,
- helps you withstand the speed of time.
Space becomes part of your life strategy
We cannot stop time.
We cannot change the era.
But we can change the conditions in which we experience this time.
This is why, in Period 9, space becomes not merely a matter of comfort, but part of the strategy for:
- life,
- business,
- fulfillment,
- management,
- and the ability to withstand the speed of the era.
At ShenQi, Feng Shui is viewed not as an attempt to “attract good luck,” but as:
a way to reduce environmental resistance and create a space in which it is easier for a person to fulfill their potential.
The course Period 9 Feng Shui: Activating the Opportunities of Time explores in detail:
- how to analyze a space,
- which directions are especially important in Period 9,
- how the environment affects money, management, and stability,
- and how to integrate Feng Shui into the “Time → Chart → Space” system.
