The week of August 10–16 does not offer one universally good day for every task. The beginning of the week is suitable for steady work; August 12 requires particular attention because of the solar eclipse, and August 13 is best approached more calmly. The week's main window then opens on August 14 and 15.
Both days support active steps, but they serve different purposes. August 14 offers more support for establishing and launching; August 15, for removing obstacles and reorganizing.
These are general characteristics of time, not a personal forecast or a guarantee of events. The day indicator, additional calendar measures, and the clash with the birth year are considered together. A personal Date Selection must take the birth chart, the task, and the context of the decision into account.
Key guidance for the week
- August 10–11—working days for continuing what is underway, obtaining results, and handling current matters. Each has its own restrictions.
- August 12—an Open day and a total solar eclipse. Record ideas and new information, but postpone serious decisions made under intense emotion until they can be reviewed calmly.
- August 13—a Close day. It is better to finish things, restore order, and allow extra time.
- August 14–15—the week's main window for business, projects, promotion, and public activity.
- August 16—a Full day. It is best to direct your attention toward what you want to support and develop.

In the Sunday edition of “Weekly Rhythm,” we take a detailed look at each day, explain the meaning of calendar indicators, and highlight the dates that deserve special attention.
August 10—Success
The week begins evenly. The Success indicator is suitable for advancing matters already underway, resolving work issues, and gaining results from previous efforts.
This is not the strongest day of the week and not necessarily a time for a major leap. It is better to develop work already in progress steadily: continue negotiations, return to a project, complete the next stage, or check an interim result.
Birth-year clash: Dog. If you were born in the Year of the Dog, act more attentively and do not rush important decisions. This is a general marker, not a personal prohibition on action.
August 11—Receive
The Receive indicator suits situations in which it is important to obtain a result, answer, information, agreement, or the outcome of previous actions.
The Annual Wealth Star is present, so financial matters may come to the fore. The month's Robbery Sha is active at the same time. The combination clearly shows why a date cannot be judged by a single indicator: an opportunity to receive a resource sits alongside the need for greater care with money and personal belongings.
Financial matters can be handled, but expenses, documents, and terms of agreements should be double-checked. On the road and in public places, cafés, and shops, keep an eye on your belongings and do not make decisions in haste.
Birth-year clash: Pig. If this is your birth year, pay closer attention to details.
August 12—Open and the solar eclipse
The Open indicator is associated with new opportunities, communication, and launching processes. However, a total solar eclipse occurs on August 12, so the day's overall character calls for a more cautious interpretation.
The total phase will be visible in part of Spain, among other places. In other regions of Europe, the eclipse will be partial.
Under ShenQi's methodology, an eclipse is not treated as an event to observe. During the eclipse, we recommend not looking at it, avoiding being outdoors unless necessary, and spending the period indoors if possible. Separate practical recommendations will be published later.
The astronomical fact of an eclipse and its calendar interpretation are different levels of description. In the ShenQi approach, eclipse periods are regarded as times when emotions may feel sharper and events more vivid. This does not mean that anything is inevitable.
On this day, it is useful to notice:
- what ideas arise;
- which conversations recur;
- what new information arrives;
- which direction you had not noticed before.
It is important to distinguish a prompt from an action. An idea can be written down, an insight considered, and an opportunity explored. A decision is better made after calm review, not on an emotional high.
The month's Calamity Sha is also active. Take particular care in emotional conversations and relationship discussions. If a conversation escalates quickly, it is more useful to pause and return to it later.
Birth-year clash: Rat. If this is your birth year, do not rush conclusions or important decisions.
August 13—Close
The Close indicator is better suited to completion, taking stock, restoring order, and resolving current matters than to starting entirely new processes.
The Illness Star and the month's Delay Sha are also present. This is neither a medical forecast nor a promise of delays. The practical conclusion is simpler: do not overload your schedule, take your condition into account, and allow extra time for tasks with strict deadlines.
If something takes longer than expected, a buffer in the schedule will help you avoid hasty decisions.
The formula for the day is: do not rush, do not overload yourself, and calmly finish what you have started.
Birth-year clash: Ox. If this is your birth year, plan the day with a little time in reserve.
August 14 and 15—the week's main window
August 14 and 15 form the week's most supportive general window for business, projects, development, promotion, and public activity.
In BaZi terms, both days support self-expression: the ability to direct accumulated energy into outward action and a concrete result. They can be considered for tasks where you need to:
- present a project or idea;
- reach an audience;
- begin a promotional campaign;
- draw attention to a product;
- take a visible step in developing a business;
- remove what is hindering further progress.
Equally strong days do not, however, need to be used in the same way.
August 14—Establish
The Establish indicator combines with the day's overall strength. This is a suitable time for something you want to begin and develop further.
The day can be considered for launching a project, presenting an idea, taking public action, beginning promotion, or making an important business decision. It is especially appropriate for tasks in which you need not merely to perform a single action, but to lay the foundation for a future process.
If the project is ready and you have been waiting for the right moment to show it to people or move to the next stage, August 14 is worth adding to the dates under consideration. The final choice depends on your chart and specific task.
Birth-year clash: Tiger. If this is your birth year, do not treat the day's general characteristics as a personal recommendation without further review.
August 15—Remove
August 15 retains strong support for action, but the Remove indicator sets a different task: eliminate what obstructs development.
Ask yourself:
- what no longer works in the process;
- which mistake needs to be corrected;
- what can be abandoned;
- which obstacle is preventing the project from moving faster.
The day is suitable for reorganizing processes, correcting mistakes, clearing accumulated tasks, and working actively with constraints. Support for self-expression, promotion, and visibility also remains.
August 14 and 15 demonstrate the core principle of Date Selection: we seek not merely a good day, but one suited to the specific task. August 14 is better for establishing and launching; August 15, for removing obstacles and reorganizing.
Birth-year clash: Rabbit. If this is your birth year, the date's personal suitability should be checked separately.
August 16—Full
The Full indicator is associated with increasing whatever receives our attention. It is therefore useful to fill the day consciously with what you want to support: study, relationships, a project, recovery, or the creation of new resources.
The other side of the same principle is not to make conflict and irritation the day's main substance if you do not want to reinforce that rhythm.
The Monthly Virtue, Annual Storehouse, and Monthly Storehouse are also present. In a general calendar interpretation, they support the themes of accumulation, strengthening, and preserving what matters.
Birth-year clash: Dragon. If this is your birth year, avoid automatic conclusions: the day's general characteristics cannot replace a personal analysis.
Looking at the week as a whole
The rhythm of the week is sequential:
- on August 10 and 11, we continue what we have started, obtain results, and work carefully with resources;
- on August 12, we notice ideas and opportunities, but do not rush to turn an emotional reaction into a final decision;
- on August 13, we slow down, finish things, and allow extra time;
- on August 14, we establish and launch;
- on August 15, we remove obstacles and restructure processes;
- on August 16, we direct attention toward what we want to strengthen.
The week's main general window is August 14 and 15. But even these dates are not universal. A day that looks supportive in the general calendar may interact differently with a personal chart and specific task.
Personalized Calendar helps you see your personal rhythm of time based on your date of birth. To compare dates for a specific task, use the Date Selection calculator.
The question should not be phrased as “Is August 14 a good day?” A more precise question is: “Is August 14 suitable specifically for me and for what I intend to do?”
This is where mindful Date Selection begins.
