From August 7 to September 7, 2026, the month of Yang Fire (丙) on the Monkey ()—Bing Shen (丙申) is in effect.
Following the month of the Wood Goat, the Monkey month opens the Metal season and begins the transition toward autumn. Yet Fire remains prominent: the month arrives during the year of the Fire Horse, and its Heavenly Stem is Yang Fire. The result is an uneven picture. A cooler, more collected Metal energy is already forming within, while speed, emotion, and the urge to act immediately remain on the surface.
This contrast between an inner transition and outward activity defines the whole period. August may bring many ideas, movement, and reasons to act, but it calls for calculation. The faster events unfold, the more important it is to check facts, documents, and your own motives.
In BaZi, the month's energy describes the general background and does not determine specific events. The period's actual influence depends on the person's entire chart, the usefulness of the elements, the current ten-year luck pillar, and individual interactions.
This material describes the month's general trends. A forecast by Day Master and year or day animal can reveal individual themes, but does not replace a personal BaZi chart analysis.
Watch the monthly analysis
If you prefer a video forecast, watch the recording of Nadezhda Kalinina's live stream. It covers the month's pillar, its interaction with the year of the Fire Horse, the Fire Punishment, the Five Elements of the Day Master, and symbolic stars.
The month's energy: Fire and
The month is formed by Yang Fire (丙) and the Monkey (), which belongs to the Metal element.
Yang Fire can be compared to the sun: visible, active, illuminating the space and expressing itself openly. The Monkey introduces a different principle: the beginning of autumn, movement toward Metal, order, structure, and a more sober assessment of events.
In the Five Elements cycle, Fire controls Metal. The month's structure therefore contains tension between the desire to influence a situation quickly and the need to follow rules, act precisely, and respect constraints.
In practice, this may appear as:
- a fast pace of work and communication;
- a desire to obtain results sooner;
- emotional reactions to obstacles and rules;
- greater prominence of documents, management, and official institutions;
- the need to choose between impulse and strategy.
This does not mean August must be conflict-ridden. But decisions made in the heat of the moment may require correction. Where agreements, legal precision, equipment, or safety matter, allow extra time for checks.
Hidden within the Monkey are Yang Metal (), Yang Water (壬), and Yang Earth (戊). The month is therefore not defined by the strength of Fire alone. Metal enters its seasonal strength, while Water begins to manifest within the Earthly Branch. It is more accurate to speak of prominent Fire from the year and the month's Heavenly Stem against a backdrop of Metal's seasonal strengthening.
The pictorial image: the sun reflected in water
The pillar of Yang Fire on the Monkey (丙申) is associated with the images of the sun reflected in water and fire without smoke.
Imagine bright sunlight over a lake or river. The light is clearly visible, but its reflection depends on the water. When the surface is calm, the image is clear. Once the water moves, it breaks into countless glints.
As an image of the month's energy, this offers a strategy for the period: observe, analyze, compare options, and only then act. It does not mean everyone automatically becomes more intellectual or strategic. Yet August can consciously be used for study, research, and unconventional solutions. The reverse side is delaying action through endless rechecking.
The month's main task is not to abandon analysis, but to carry it through to a decision: gather the facts, choose a direction, and take a concrete step.
The pictorial image describes the period's energy. It cannot be mechanically applied to the character of everyone born under the 丙申 pillar.

Interaction with the year of the Fire Horse
The month takes place within the year of the Fire Horse. The year's Fire and the month's Fire intensify the period's overall activity, visibility, and emotional temperature.
On one hand, this supports initiative: it is easier to begin a conversation, present an idea, speak publicly, advance a project, or return to a long-postponed task. On the other, strong Fire can shorten the distance between emotion and action. People respond, argue, decide, or take on more than they can accomplish more quickly.
Simple constraints are therefore especially useful in August:
- do not answer important messages while irritated;
- double-check documents, dates, and agreements;
- follow traffic rules and safety procedures;
- do not confuse urgency with importance;
- leave time for recovery, even if you feel highly energetic.
The month's main principle is to act actively, but not reactively.
Strengths of the month
Strategic thinking
August helps you see the whole situation, compare options, and plan several steps ahead. This is useful for negotiations, project development, financial planning, and tasks that require considering the consequences of a decision.
Intellectual activity
The period suits study, analytical work, consultations, and research. New information may connect more quickly with accumulated experience, and complex questions become clearer when examined methodically.
New ideas
The combination of bright Fire and the agile Monkey supports an unconventional perspective. You may find another way to solve an old problem, notice a missed opportunity, or reformulate your goal.
Movement
The Monkey belongs to the Traveling Horses. The month may therefore contain more travel, meetings, changes, and new contacts. This energy is useful when a matter genuinely needs movement.
Seeing what is hidden
The period favors searching for causes, testing assumptions, and analyzing processes more deeply. It is a good time not merely to remove consequences, but to understand why a situation keeps recurring.
Possible challenges
Impulsiveness
Strong Fire accelerates emotional reactions. Before making an immediate decision, check whether it is driven by irritation, fear of missing an opportunity, or a desire to relieve tension quickly.
Conflict
Tension between Fire and Metal may be visible in negotiations, working relationships, and matters of rules. Directness is useful until it becomes pressure. When positions differ, discuss concrete terms rather than each other's intentions or character.
Doubt and anxiety
The image of a reflection in water also shows analysis's reverse side: repeatedly checking everything, revisiting a decision, or endlessly seeking the perfect option. To avoid becoming stuck, define in advance what counts as sufficient information.
Haste and inattention
A high pace raises the cost of small mistakes, especially on the road and when working with equipment, sharp tools, documents, and financial transactions.
A test of discipline
Rules, management, and official requirements may become more prominent. August is not the best month to ignore procedures demonstratively. Attention to deadlines and formalities will preserve more freedom for your own decisions.
Fire Punishment: Tiger (寅), Snake (巳), and
The Tiger (寅), Snake (巳), and Monkey (申) form an interaction called the Fire Punishment in BaZi. The complete structure arises only when all three branches are present simultaneously.
August brings the Monkey. The full Fire Punishment can therefore form if the natal chart or other active pillars already contain both the Tiger and Snake. Only the Tiger or Snake together with the Monkey does not make the complete triad; it is a separate pairwise interaction that must be assessed in the whole chart's context. The Snake and Monkey also form a separate combination, so they cannot be interpreted only through punishment.
Each of the three branches can be a Traveling Horse for one group of Earthly Branches. Themes of movement, speed, and change therefore do intensify in the full structure, but Traveling Horse status is always determined relative to the particular chart.
The name does not mean literal punishment or an inevitable event. It describes conditions in which a person may rush more often, act emotionally, enter conflicts, or create additional tension.
The specific area depends on where the signs occur:
- year—usually the social environment and broad circle of contacts;
- month—the professional environment and work processes;
- day—personal decisions and close relationships;
- hour—plans, projects, and inner aspirations.
This is only one layer of analysis. The entire chart is required to draw conclusions about events.

During a period of heightened activity, it is useful to:
- avoid important decisions while emotions are running high;
- take greater care when driving and traveling;
- observe safety procedures;
- plan your route and extra time in advance;
- direct excess movement into sport, work, and concrete tasks without driving yourself to exhaustion.
How to use August's energy
The month has abundant energy, but the best result will come not from maximum speed, but from the right sequence of actions.
In August, it is useful to:
- choose one or two priority tasks rather than trying to accelerate everything at once;
- plan important actions and check conditions beforehand;
- study, consult, and gather facts before deciding;
- turn ideas into small, concrete steps;
- check documents and financial calculations;
- leave time between stimulus and response;
- balance activity and recovery;
- use Date Selection for significant matters.
If you do not yet know your Day Master and chart's Earthly Branches, determine them with the BaZi calculator.
Health and well-being
Chinese metaphysics views well-being through the balance of the Five Elements. This is not medical diagnosis, but an additional way to attend to routine, strain, and prevention.
In August, prominent Fire interacts with Metal as it enters seasonal strength. In BaZi correspondences, Metal is associated with the lungs, large intestine, and skin. As preventive care, pay closer attention to dryness, sensitive mucous membranes, and the body's response to heat or insufficient fluid.
Fire is associated with the heart, blood vessels, and small intestine. People with chronic conditions should follow their physician's advice, avoid abrupt increases in strain, and not ignore changes in well-being.
General recommendations:
- maintain hydration within individual medical restrictions;
- avoid chronic sleep deprivation;
- practice moderation in food and alcohol;
- do not train through poor health;
- attend scheduled examinations and follow medical instructions;
- reduce strain if persistent fatigue or deterioration appears.
These recommendations do not replace medical advice. A general forecast cannot determine individual risks or explain specific symptoms.
On August 5, health will be discussed further in a ShenQi live stream together with the month's Feng Shui forecast and Date Selection. The time and link will be published once the schedule is confirmed.
Forecast by Day Master
The Day Master is the basic personality element in a BaZi chart. Its interaction with the month's energy helps reveal which themes may come forward.
The usefulness of Fire and other elements for your particular chart must be considered. The same month can manifest differently for two people with the same Day Master.
Wood Day Master (甲, 乙)
For Yang and Yin Wood, the month's Fire is Self-Expression—ideas, initiatives, creativity, projects, and actions through which a person expresses themselves. The Monkey's Metal is Power—rules, discipline, management, official institutions, and responsibility.
Self-Expression controls Power. August may therefore sharpen the question of how to act in your own way while respecting rules, agreements, and others' interests.
At work, this may appear as a desire to change format, start a project, dispute with management, or defend your position more actively. In families, tension may concern children, duties, and attempts to control each other's decisions. In legal and official matters, precise arguments will help more than emotional pressure.
Act consistently and remember that the manner of acting determines the consequences.
Yang Wood (甲)
The emphasis is on initiative, direct expression of ideas, and advancing a project. Do not turn confidence into a fight against every constraint: some rules help preserve results this month.
Yin Wood (乙)
The Noble Helper and Heavenly Luck Ruler arrive. Support may come through advice, an acquaintance, timely information, or someone who helps reveal a solution. These opportunities unfold more easily when you ask for help and honor agreements.
Fire Day Master (丙, 丁)
For Yang and Yin Fire, the month strengthens their own element, which controls Wealth. Income, expenses, resources, business, and financial risk come forward.
If Fire is useful, the period may support earnings, project development, teamwork, and active promotion. If Fire is unfavorable, finances require more care: spending accelerates, decisions become emotional, and haste increases error risk.
The key is financial discipline. Assess not only potential profit, but cost, timing, and your available resources.
Yang Fire (丙)
The Academic Star supports study, teaching, research, and knowledge work—a good period for preparing materials, presentations, exams, and expertise.
Yin Fire (丁)
The Rob Wealth energy may make money especially mobile: it can arrive and leave equally quickly, so set a budget in advance.
The Golden Carriage concerns career and material opportunities. The Bathing Star increases visibility and attractiveness, but may create ambiguity, gossip, and needless flirting. Red Clouds advises safety, especially around equipment, sharp tools, and travel.
Earth Day Master (戊, 己)
For Yang and Yin Earth, Fire is Resource, while Metal is Self-Expression. Stronger Resource may restrain ideas and the desire to act.
It may be harder to gather your thoughts quickly, choose one option, or bring an idea to completion. Information may abound while clarity does not. With children or subordinates, advice may not be received as expected.
Allow preparation time, but set a deadline after which analysis must become action. Forcing the situation only increases resistance.
Yang Earth (戊)
The Academic Star supports study, teaching, and intellectual work. Noble Food concerns pleasure, hospitality, quality food, and enjoying life. Its reverse is excess, so routine and moderation remain important.
Yin Earth (己)
The Noble Helper offers support through people and useful connections. The Golden Carriage concerns career and material development. The Bathing Star increases visibility—useful in communication, negotiations, and public activity, but requiring care with personal boundaries and reputation.
For Yang and Yin Metal, Fire represents Power and controls their own element. August may intensify responsibility, discipline, obligations, leadership, and official requirements.
If Fire is useful, these conditions improve organization, strengthen professional standing, and help accomplish an important task. If unfavorable, external pressure feels stronger through greater workload and more dealings with inspections, documents, or government bodies.
Do not argue with rules merely to display independence. Calm preparation and respect for procedure provide more room to maneuver.
Yang Metal (庚)
The Prosperity Star, or Reward Star of the Ten Heavenly Stems, concerns financial opportunities and reward for effort. Its energy is controlled, so an opportunity must be noticed and realized through discipline and timely action.
Yin Metal (辛)
The Career Star supports professional growth and serious responsibilities. Goat Blade gives determination, but may increase harshness and forcefulness. Direct that strength into work, not conflict.
Water Day Master (壬, 癸)
For Yang and Yin Water, Fire is Wealth, which controls Resource. This focuses attention on earnings, business, and material tasks while potentially increasing energy expenditure.
If Fire is useful, the period may support financial activity and business development. If unfavorable, material tasks may consume more energy than you can restore.
The main risk is giving work and money more energy than the body can replenish. Plan pauses as well as tasks.
Yang Water (壬)
The Tai Chi Nobleman concerns intuition, observation, and deeper insight. A useful solution sometimes comes not during intense analysis, but after a pause, walk, or quiet observation.
Yin Water (癸)
The Red Beauty Demon joins the Tai Chi Nobleman. It increases charisma and visibility, useful for negotiations and public activity. Its reverse is idealizing people and trusting an attractive presentation. Check facts before important decisions.
Forecast by birth-year and birth-day animal
The month's symbolic stars and interactions can be viewed through the Earthly Branch of the birth day and year. The day branch usually describes the personal sphere more precisely; the year branch provides a broader social layer.
One sign neither describes the whole chart nor guarantees an event. Use this section as observational guidance, not a personal forecast.
Tiger
The Traveling Horse and Blood Blade arrive. The month becomes more mobile, with possible travel, business trips, projects, and changes. Planned movement is useful. Blood Blade advises care while driving, with tools, and around safety.
Rabbit
The Robbery Demon arrives. Finances and property require greater care. Avoid dubious deals, impulsive purchases, and loans without clear terms. Check details before transferring money or signing documents.
Dragon
The Five Ghosts activate. This may heighten anxiety, suspicion, and premature conclusions. Separate known facts from assumptions when a situation triggers strong emotion.
Snake
The Solitary Shelter and Funeral Doors arrive. Solitary Shelter increases the need for quiet and personal space. Funeral Doors concern completion and release from what is no longer useful. The month suits calmly reviewing tasks, resting, and closing prolonged processes.
Horse
The Solitary Shelter, Traveling Horse, and Funeral Gate activate. The month brings movement, trips, and new tasks, yet also requires pauses and timely recovery. Use Funeral Gate as a prompt to finish an obsolete project, abandon a harmful habit, or clear unneeded possessions and obligations.
Goat
The Solitary Shelter, Robbery Demon, and Red Luan arrive. Red Luan supports communication, new contacts, and relationships. Solitary Shelter calls for personal space. Robbery Demon requires financial prudence. New contacts may help if you avoid financial decisions made under someone's or a situation's spell.
Monkey
The Monkey Earthly Branch energy is duplicated. The result depends on whether this element is useful.
Rooster
The Destruction Demon arrives. Do not rush decisions, avoid needless conflict, and recheck important actions. Sometimes the best use of the month is to pause before responding and decline a risk with no clear purpose.
Dog
The Traveling Horse and Family Difficulties Star arrive. Travel, changes, projects, and active communication may make the period dynamic. Relationships with loved ones may need more attention. Discuss misunderstandings promptly rather than accumulating resentment.
Pig
The Destruction Demon arrives. Make decisions more calmly. Check documents, do not conclude from rumors, and avoid conflict when clarifying terms can resolve the issue.
Rat
Heavenly Happiness, Dragon Luck, and Devilish Portal arrive. The first two concern support and opportunities to advance matters. Devilish Portal advises critical thinking: good news or an offer still needs verification.
Ox
The Destruction Demon, Heavenly Joy, and Dragon Luck activate. Heavenly Joy and Dragon Luck support communication and planned affairs. Destruction Demon adds a need for care: use opportunities calmly, not from fear of missing out.
In place of a conclusion
The month of Yang Fire on the Monkey combines two tendencies. Outwardly, heat, speed, and the desire to act remain. Within, the autumn transition toward Metal, structure, and more precise calculation has begun.
August's core skill is therefore not reducing activity, but managing it: gather facts, choose a direction, and turn decisions into action. Check documents. Do not respond emotionally. Leave time for recovery.
On August 5, ShenQi will continue the monthly analysis in a separate live stream on health, Feng Shui, and Date Selection. Follow the announcements.
