This Week at ShenQi: August 10–16

Theme of the week—we are launching a new format: “You Ask—ShenQi Answers.”

August 9, 2026 4 minutes read

What have you long wanted to ask about BaZi? How can you tell when it is better to study independently and when you need a personal analysis? And is it possible to choose a good date without a consultant's help?

During the week of August 10–16, ShenQi is launching a new format: “You Ask—ShenQi Answers.”

Nadezhda Kalinina will answer questions in short videos, posts, and a live stream. We may combine similar questions. If an answer requires a personal chart or a detailed examination of the situation, we will make the limits of general material clear: we will not conduct a complete personal analysis based on a single comment.

For the quality of time from August 10 to 16, see the “Weekly Rhythm” article.

🌿 Theme of the week

In the first half of the week, we will talk about BaZi, learning, and consultations. We will then move on to Date Selection and, toward the weekend, love and intimacy.

This week, we will explore:

  • why an individual element, symbol, or year animal cannot be interpreted without the context of the entire chart;
  • how independent BaZi study differs from a personal consultation;
  • how to formulate a personal question so that an analysis helps you make a decision;
  • when a general method is sufficient for choosing a date and when a personal calculation is needed;
  • why people may express love and care in different ways;
  • how understanding yourself differs from analyzing a couple's compatibility.

BaZi helps reveal the characteristics and conditions of a situation, but it does not make decisions for you. A general answer cannot replace a personal analysis, and compatibility is not a verdict on a relationship.

🌿 If you would like to continue learning

“Energy of Destiny: BaZi Fundamentals” provides a step-by-step introduction to chart structure, the Five Elements, the Ten Gods, and the influence of time.

If you have one specific personal question about relationships, career, finances, health, or life changes, a themed BaZi consultation is available for it.

In the Date Selection materials, we will separately explain how a basic skill differs from the personal selection of timing for an important decision.

Save the week's program and send us your questions. We will begin answering them on Monday.
